PUMPKIN PATCH This annual event, will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008. This is a favorite of students and parents alike! The theme is autumn fun and the kids look forward to the Pumpkin Patch all year long! The evening is good, old-fashioned fun for the whole family. Little brothers and sisters, grandparents, friends…all are invited to join in the festivities at this community event!
YEARBOOKS Sixth grade students, under the direction of Mr. Norris, create these books full of memories each year. Advance sales are held in the fall, with distribution of the books scheduled for late spring.
ARTS IN EDUCATION This important program includes providing cash to pay for transportation on field trips to local high school orchestra concerts, applying for grants for the artist in residence programs, and supplementing those grants when possible, funding special performances of local children’s theater troupes, the Music Discovery program and the Masterpiece Art program.
THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON Our luncheon is famous throughout the district! The PTO hosts a memorable luncheon the week before Thanksgiving. Parents, grandparents, siblings and others are invited to dine with their children at this meal. A holiday menu is created with the help of the cafeteria staff and guest chefs. The cafeteria is gaily decorated with candles and table decorations to make it a festive occasion. Our students really enjoy it when their families take time out of their busy days to lunch with them.
BOOK FAIR The annual book fair is held in March. PTO chooses to host two-for-one on all books in lieu of earning a profit on these books. This provides the opportunity for kids to stock up on more books. Reading keeps the brain moving!! Students shop with their classes during school hours, as well as during the one family evening event. Parents and students can also use this opportunity to purchase books for the teachers’ wish lists that are posted at the fair.
CAMPUS MAINTENANCE Campus maintenance includes: • Planting flowers • Courtyard • Shade structures for three playgrounds • Outdoor signage
This program has contributed in many ways.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK The PTO does its best to show our appreciation to all the teachers and staff members for their outstanding efforts throughout the year. However, during this week, not only are special surprises planned each day, but also a festive luncheon for the teachers is held on National Teacher Appreciation Day.
CLASSROOM SUPPORT The PTO recognizes that the District funds given to our teachers for supplies do not always stretch to cover the entire school year; therefore, we make available funds to cover ongoing needs. From computer printer cartridges to kindergarten construction paper, we try to help minimize the extra money that our teachers use from their own pockets. PUEBLO PTO ARE YOU INVOLVED? |
