Thank you for checking out the many ways you can volunteer at Pueblo. The PTO depends greatly on the support we receive from parents. Please read the opportunities below and fill out the volunteer envelope that came home with your child to let us know how you can help.

If you have questions or would like to volunteer for an event, please contact the volunteer coordinator, Becky Youman, at volunteer@pueblopto.org, or submit your information using the form below.

School-Wide Events - Pueblo has a number of community-building events that require parent volunteers to be successful. Please consider giving some time for these events:

Pumpkin Patch, October 29, 4-8pm, co-chair still needed: This old-fashioned fall carnival is a great family event. It requires numerous volunteers. In addition to helping your children’s classrooms with their booths, please take some time to serve in the following areas:

Event planning  *  Entertainment planning * Booth planning * Set- up  *  Tear-down  *  Ticket Sales * Raffle ticket sales * Food sales

Donuts with Dads, September 17, 8:00-8:30am, chaired by Erin Dahl: This morning event where Dads, Uncles, Grand-dads (or moms) take kids to school and enjoy a donut in the cafeteria is a big hit. Volunteers are needed for:

Event advertising  *  Food procurement  *  Set up  *  Donut serving * Clean-up

Family Game Night, September 29, 5-7pm, chaired by Liz Vasquez: Join others for a fun night of bingo in the school cafeteria. Consider helping in the following areas:

Event advertising  * Event set-up * Bingo card sales * Food sales * Raffle ticket sales * Event clean-up

Thanksgiving Luncheon, November 19, 10:30am-1:30pm, chair still needed: Families come enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal with their kids. This event requires many volunteers. Please consider eating with your child and staying to help with:

Decorations * Set-up * Ticket Sales * Food serving * Floor help * Clean-up

Family Game Night, January 19, 5-7pm, chaired by Liz Vasquez: Join others for a fun night of bingo in the school cafeteria. Consider helping in the following areas:

Event advertising  * Event set-up * Bingo card sales * Food sales * Raffle ticket sales * Event clean-up

Field Day, March date tbd, chaired by Brenda Nordman: Help with the kids as they enjoy a day outside. Volunteers are needed to:

Solicit snack donations * Set up * Help with Field Games * Serve refreshments * Clean up

Spaghetti Dinner/Open House, April 14, 5-7pm, chair still needed: Families come to school to enjoy a fun dinner as well as tour the children’s classroom . Volunteers are needed for:

Food Procurement * Decorations * Set-up * Ticket Sales * Serving Food* Clean-up

Fundraisers - In addition to the events above, Pueblo raises funds through different activities.

Cookie Dough Sales, September kick-off, November delivery, chaired by Kelly Holtry: One of our largest fundraisers, the cookie dough sales committee needs volunteers to:

Promote the event * Organize orders * Help with the pick-up process

Pumpkin Patch Raffle, October 29, 4-8pm, chaired by Lisa Schatz: A fundraising raffle is held during Pumpkin Patch. Volunteers are needed to:

Solicit raffle prizes * Create raffle baskets * Sell raffle tickets

Book Fair, November 19 all day, chaired by Kristi Bigelow: Kids buy books for a discount on this day. Help is needed to:

Set up * Assist with sales * Tear down

Pocket Change for Pueblo, Spring, chair still needed: This change drive takes place over the spring and culminates in the counting of the money at the Spaghetti Dinner on April 14. Help is needed to:

Advertise the event * Collect the money

Spaghetti Dinner Silent Auction & Raffle, April 14, chair still needed: Held in conjunction with the Open House, the Silent Auction & Raffle help raise needed funds. Volunteers are needed to:

Solicit auction items * Advertise auction items * Organize auction * Oversee auction at event * Notify auction winners

Book Fair, April 14 all day, chair still needed: Kids buy books for a discount on this day. Help is needed to:

Arrange for book delivery * Set up * Assist with sales * Tear down

Hospitality Events – The Pueblo PTO also hosts some hospitality events. Please consider volunteering to help.

Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6, chair still needed: Volunteers treat teachers like royalty this week. Help is needed for:

Making and serving lunch one day * getting snacks * wrapping and delivering teacher gifts

6th Grade Promotion, May 24th, 9am, chair still needed: Fifth grade parents create a special event for 6th graders moving on to junior high. Volunteers are needed to:

Purchase cakes * Set up courtyard * Make Decorations * Make lemonade * Serve cake * Clean-up

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Art Masterpiece, on-going, chaired by Yolanda Nussdorfer: This is an educational program in which volunteers present various artists and techniques to the classrooms throughout the school year. Training is provided.

School Picture Day, October 1st, organized by office: Volunteers are needed to help organize and manage the kids. Volunteers get free pictures for their kids.

Goods & Services: Do you have a good or service that could benefit the school? Perhaps your company could provide a Silent Auction or Raffle item? Maybe you can provide food for one of the events? Please let us know!

On-call Volunteers: If you aren’t sure how you can help, but want to be involved in the future, your name can go on the “on-call” list. If we find we are short-handed for an activity or event, we will see if you can help.
